I have been working on moving my newsletter over from where I've had it which is BLAH.. to Bravenet, where I'm able to tweek it in order for it to have a little more pizazz.
If you're already on my newsletter subscriber list, you receieved an email today that you'll have to respond to, in order for it to move your name over to the new service. If you're not on my list yet, take a minute and enter your email over there on the right hand side, so you'll be sent notifications of new merchandise, and also get the special discounts given to subscribers only!

Mind taking a poll for me?

I'm T*A*R*D*!!!

Whewwwwwww........I stayed up until almost 1 a.m. last night, after receiving the long awaited email from DIY, that my store was ready to have graphics and inventory loaded.
I had previously had my site with them, so I knew my way around pretty good.
I wanted to at least get my buttons and backgrounds loaded, and when I did, I just wasn't thrilled with the colors or look, so I played around until I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer and started all over again bright and early this morning.
I spent literally allllllll day long playing on Photo Shop, and searching through the various help threads on DIY to tweek my site to where I would be somewhat satisfied....lol
I'm pretty picky about some things, and really wanted to give my site an "Extreme Makeover - Web Addition", and I can say right now, that I'm pretty pleased with the look.
Check it out - the new and improved Little Sister's Dolls!
I won't be selling on this blog anymore, but have all kinds of new items available for the Halloween and Christmas season that is rapidly approaching.

While you're there, if you aren't already one of my subscribers to my newsletter, there's a spot on the homepage where you can sign up by entering your email addy.
A button on the left side of the home page will take you to a separate page, where you can read the perks of being a subscriber.

Thanks for looking.....I'm calling it a NIGHT!

Extreme Makeover - Web Addition

After a few months of NOT having my website, I've decided to re-open it. I mean, I kept my domain name, and was getting business there, so.......it only makes sense to use that as my main place to sell from, right?
It takes DIY a few days to get things set up, so I've been busy today making new graphics and backgrounds - kind of like,
Extreme Makeover - Web Addition
Here's a peek at the new logo, and I decided to use some of my favorite Santas, seeing as how they are the thing I love to make the most and also sell the most of.
I will also be featuring my sister Kathy's folk art - she's got so much talent it's unbelievable - she sells in boutiques in Santa Fe, NM, antique shops in Dallas, and has had her work in galleries outside Washington, D.C.
Bringing her things to the site, will only make it that much better! :)

Make sure you get on my mailing list, so you will have a head's up as to the Grand Re-Opening of Little Sister's Dolls

TDIPT Candy Corn Carnival on Ebay

So it's been awhile since TDIPT has done a launch on Ebay, and Patty of Dogpatch Primitives (our awesome TDIPT group leader), came up with the brilliant idea to do one starting this Sunday, Aug. 2, with the theme "Candy Corn Carnival".

Now it wasn't easy for me to come up with something to fit into that theme, I dug deep into the distorted and humorous recesses of my brain and imagination, I managed to get this guy done up today.
He's a shelf sitter - another of my Stumpy Dolls, and is OoAK.

I think he's got the perfect Used Car Salesman smirk on his face, don't you? :) This next week though, he'll be on Ebay trying to push candy corn...
Make sure you check into Ebay this Sunday and type TDIPT into your browser, to see all the other items offered by the members of our group!

WAY out of Character for Me!

Ok...so now I'm REALLY out of character here...lol
I never do Extreme Prims, but had this stained muslin dollie sitting around, and thought I'd make her into a very extreme black witch...
She's now listed on Ebay.

I'm used to doing more "Folk Art-y" kinda stuff, where I detail their faces with artist's pencils and such, but there are a LOT of people who just want the really grungy and "not so pretty" kinda dollies to decorate with....lol
So, here's my "not so pretty" hag of a witch...

Just Listed on Ebay

So this is WAY out of character for me - I tend to stick to Fall items like scarecrows and such, but this morning as I made up a round head doll, I thought I'd try my hand at a Count Dracula, and am pretty pleased with how he turned out.
He is now listed on Ebay with an opening bid of $29.95

This is a OoAK original by me, and new for 2009
He looks awesome next to Isadora the Witch :)

So I'm Giving Ebay Another Try

After months of not listing on Ebay, due to their outrageous fees and such, I thought I'd give it another shot today, as I discovered that there are no listing fees at the moment....how long this will last is anyone's guess, so I jumped on the bandwagon, while the ride is free...lol

I've never done any Halloween items, but have come up with a few this year, and just listed "Isadora" for a 5 day listing, with the opening bid at $29.95.
If she sells.....I might have to consider making another similar dollie to list on the TDIPT Mercantile come Aug. 1 :)

She's a OoAK Stump doll, and comes with her German glass glittered hat.

My New Favorite "Toy"

I recently got a new laptop, and was able to finally get Photoshop.....a program I've been wanting to learn for quite some time.
I thought I used to love working in a dark room, but OMG this is even MORE fun...lol I could literally spend hours playing on this, even though it's not the easiest program to figure out at first.
With a little patience (something I'm not gifted with) and a few old photos, I was able to make this simple banner today... :)
I know it's not too fancy with borders and such, but I think for my first attempt, it turned out OK :)

Sawdust Pin Keep

Every seamstress should have a really good pin keep, and it should be one that will not dull out her pins and needles;using sawdust keeps your pins sharp and clean.
These 6 1/2 inch by 4 inch sawdust pin keeps are
made from a heavy upholstery fabric in tones of
dark red, olive green, browns and golds.
The back is a dark red cotton.
They each have a piece of vintage mustard colored rick rack sewn onto the front, and I've used cotton floss to crudely stitch "PiNS" onto the front. Two vintage buttons are also sewn onto the front.
*These would make a GREAT Mother's Day Gift*
